Cargo Theft Monitoring for Trucks, Trailers and Yards

Live video, GPS tracking and door sensors on your loads, watched by operators who act the moment a trailer is opened, a truck leaves its route or someone enters the yard at night. From the loading dock to the final delivery.

  • Yard cameras and in-transit tracking in one plan
  • Route, door and tamper alerts handled by a person
  • Full timeline for insurers and police

The problem

Cargo theft in Ontario is rising, and most loads are never recovered

Équité Association counted about 1,601 thefts of tractors, trailers and cargo in Ontario in 2025, with Peel Region and the GTA accounting for a large share. Nationally, the cargo recovery rate fell to 9 percent.

A stolen load costs more than the goods. There is the delivery you missed, the customer you have to call, the insurance deductible and the premium at renewal. Theft often happens in the yard over a weekend or at a truck stop during a break, when nobody is watching the trailer.

What is cargo monitoring?

Layered protection instead of an escort vehicle

High-value cargo monitoring combines cameras, GPS trackers and door sensors on trucks, trailers and yards with a live monitoring centre. Operators watch for route deviations, unplanned stops, door openings and yard intrusions, and respond in real time by contacting the driver, dispatch, security or police.

24/7 live video

Yard, dock and in-cab cameras available to operators at any moment.

GPS tracking

Live location with alerts for route deviations, long stops and delays.

Door and tamper sensors

Instant alerts when a trailer door opens outside a planned stop.

Two-way audio

Operators reach the driver in seconds, or warn people around the trailer.

Immobiliser and panic button

Ignition control and a driver panic button for hijacking attempts.

Yard monitoring

Perimeter cameras on parked trailers overnight and on weekends.

How it works

How cargo monitoring works, trip by trip

  1. Pre-departure check

Before the load leaves, we confirm video, sensors and GPS are online and the route is loaded.

  2. Live transit monitoring

Operators watch for route changes, unplanned stops and door openings, with analytics flagging anything unusual.

  3. Emergency response

If something is wrong, we contact the driver, alert your dispatch and security, and call police with the location.

  4. Delivery report

Every event from pickup to delivery is logged with times, GPS history and operator notes.

Our approach

Built around your operation

We write standard operating procedures with your operations team: which stops are planned, who to call first, what counts as a deviation and when police are called. The plan fits your security framework instead of replacing it.

  • Works with most telematics and GPS systems already in your fleet
  • Encrypted video and data, shared only with people you name
  • One shipment, one lane or a whole fleet
  • Yard monitoring for trailers dropped overnight

FAQ

Cargo monitoring questions

Can your system work with our existing fleet tracking?

Yes. Our monitoring works with most telematics and GPS platforms used by fleets. Where a trailer has no tracking, we can add a tracker and door sensor.

How quickly do you respond to an alert?

Alerts reach an operator in real time. They act right away according to the response plan you approved, starting with contacting the driver and escalating to your dispatch, security and police.

Is the video and location data secure?

Video and data travel over encrypted connections and are only shared with the people named in your plan, and with police when an incident is reported.

What is in the delivery report?

A time-stamped log of the trip: departure, stops, any alerts and what the operator did, the GPS route history and video clips of any incident.

Can monitoring replace a security escort?

For many loads, yes, at a lower cost. For the highest-value or highest-risk shipments, monitoring can be combined with an escort. We will tell you which applies during the assessment.
