Construction Site Video Monitoring in Ontario
Copper, tools, fuel and machines disappear from construction sites after the crew goes home. Our operators watch your site cameras every night and weekend, warn trespassers through a speaker and call police while they are still inside the fence.
- Temporary camera setups, including solar power
- Live talk-down and police dispatch
- From excavation to handover, no long-term contract
What is construction site video monitoring?
Eyes on the site when nobody is on it
Construction site video monitoring uses cameras placed around a building site, connected to a monitoring centre where operators watch for people and vehicles after working hours. When someone enters, the operator warns them through a speaker and calls police, while recording evidence for your insurer.
A fence and a padlock slow people down. They do not stop someone who has already scouted the site during the day. Most losses happen on weeknights and long weekends, when the site can sit empty for 60 hours or more.
What goes wrong
The risks we watch for on building sites
Every loss on a site also costs schedule time: a missing generator or cut wiring can hold up a trade for days.
Material theft
Copper wire and pipe, lumber, drywall, appliances waiting to be installed.
Tools and equipment
Generators, compressors, power tools, skid steers and attachments.
Fuel and vehicles
Diesel siphoned from machines and tanks, and vehicles left on site.
Trespass
People inside an open excavation or up on a structure are a safety and liability risk.
Vandalism
Graffiti, broken windows and damage to finished work.
Fire
Smoke and fire spotted on camera and reported to the fire department early.
How it works
Setting up monitoring on your site
Site walk
We look at the fence line, laydown areas, site trailer, power and where materials are stored.
Cameras in place
We install temporary cameras with speakers and lighting, on poles or towers, powered by solar or site power.
Monitoring hours set
We watch from when the last trade leaves until the first arrives, plus weekends and holidays.
Move with the build
Cameras are moved as the site changes, and removed at handover.
Monitoring vs. a night guard
Why contractors switch from overnight guards
| Overnight guard | Video monitoring | |
|---|---|---|
| Covers the whole site at once | No, one area at a time | Yes, every camera is analysed |
| Weekend and holiday cost | Every hour billed, often at premium rates | Priced per camera-hour |
| Guard safety | Alone on site facing intruders | Operator is off site |
| Evidence | Written notes | Video clips and a time-stamped report |
Some sites still need a person, for example to open the gate for early deliveries. Our parent company, Supreme Security Services, provides licensed guards, and we can combine both.

FAQ
Construction site monitoring questions
Is video monitoring good for construction sites?
Yes. Construction sites are empty for long stretches, hold valuable materials and equipment, and are hard to fence completely. Live monitoring covers the whole site overnight and on weekends for less than a guard, and stops theft while it is happening rather than recording it.
What if my site has no power or internet?
We use camera setups powered by solar panels and batteries, or by temporary site power, with cellular connections. They work from the first day of excavation.
How long do I need to commit for?
There are no long-term contracts. Most construction clients keep monitoring for the length of the project, and some add it only during high-risk phases such as when appliances or copper are on site.
Can monitoring lower my builder's risk insurance?
Some insurers offer better terms or require monitoring on high-value projects. Ask your broker. We provide a description of the system and incident reports you can share with them.
What happens when someone enters the site at night?
Analytics flag the person, an operator checks the cameras and warns them through the speaker. If they do not leave, we call police with a description and location on site, and let your site contact know. You receive the video afterwards.
